As part of our community-focused ethos, we love getting out and about, meeting new faces, and finding out what makes every community we connect really tick.
Along with providing free entertainment (and sometimes free food!) to attending families and residents that call our connected communities home, our eye-catching events are also a great means of showcasing and getting to know local businesses and institutions.
With some of our events, such as Valley Fest, we’ve even been able to achieve the unthinkable and help local businesses do something they never dreamed they could.

To celebrate our network’s expansion into Portishead, the town’s Open Air Pool received a free, full-fibre connection to our ultrafast network.
As well as turning the heated outdoor pool pink, we also hosted a jam-packed family fun day featuring games, giveaways, and a special performance from the Portishead’s synchronised swimming team – all to raise money for the pool’s brand-new, much-needed disability hoist.
“As well as funding our free swim day, Truespeed also provided new uniforms for all our lifeguards, compostable takeaway coffee cups for our tuck shop and onsite café, and connected the facility to their network.
“We’re very grateful to a people- and community-focused business like Truespeed supporting our community pool.”
Andy Thatcher, Operations Director, Portishead Open Air Pool
Since Valley Fest’s first event in 2014, business vendors, attending news outlets and festivalgoers alike often struggled to get online in the festival’s picturesque – but remote – surroundings.
That is, until we installed our very own full-fibre network directly to the site just in time for Valley Fest 2022. As a result, vendors could process payments faster than ever before with seamless 24/7 connectivity, and festivalgoers could share their experience online in real time.
“The connectivity provided by Truespeed worked seamlessly throughout the weekend, especially enabling transactions in the food and drink stands and allowing us to update our 24/7 newsfeed and social media channels topped up with news from the festival.”
