As a local, community-focused Bath-based broadband provider, we care about the future of the communities we build to, live in and love throughout the South West.
That’s why we’re always looking to support causes and initiatives that matter most to the communities we connect, and is why we’ve partnered with the Chew Valley 10k – a much-loved local event which sees the entire area come together for a fun-filled day of getting active and raising money for local causes.
Since 2013, local runners and fitness fanatics alike have taken to the picturesque roads and lanes snaking their way from Bishop Sutton to Coley and back again, all in the name of charity. (And also, for some, the pursuit of a new PB.)
This year’s event will see over 350 runners – including a few from the Truespeed team – help raise funds for the Bishop Sutton Primary School Society, Chew Valley School Society, NICU Support, and the Chew Valley Plants Trees initiative.
The Bishop Sutton Primary School Society help young children to be more confident, supportive, and respectful, while the Chew Valley School Society are a vital means of financial support for young people and families when times are tough.
In delivering life-saving breast milk from volunteer mothers to sick and premature babies, the NICU Support are also able to make sure each baby has the best possible start in life.
And, through the hard work of the Chew Valley Plants Trees initiative, future generations will be able to get out and enjoy nature for decades to come as they attempt to double the number of trees within the Chew Valley by 2030.
As a joint-main sponsor for this year’s event, we’re delighted to be aiding each of these brilliant causes in their efforts to support both the South West’s future generations and the region itself through the next decade and beyond.
Runners will also receive a bespoke finisher’s medal designed by local Chew Valley School student, Ashley-Marie.
“The design competition is a fantastic chance for the students to get involved”, says Denise Mellersh, Chew Valley 10k’s Race Director, “and we were very impressed by Ashley-Marie’s entry.”
“We’re thrilled to have Truespeed onboard as a joint-main sponsor this year. With their support, we can continue to raise much-needed funds for the local community.”
