What to expect on installation day

Usually installed in under an hour, getting your own full-fibre line is easier than you’d think.

Your own brand new

Full-fibre connection

When you join us, we’ll install a brand new full-fibre broadband line into your home, that’s yours and yours alone.

That might sound like a big job, but it’s not. It can be done in under an hour with the absolute minimum of disruption to you or your property.

When you sign up, you’ll choose a date for one of our engineers to come round and connect you.

What happens

Before your installation

Usually a week or two before your install date, one of our team will pop around to assess your property and help ensure the installation goes smoothly.

During this visit, we’ll make sure that nothing (like an overhanging tree or a blocked underground duct) will hamper your installation. And we’ll choose the route with the least disruption for your new line to take, either under or over ground.

If any external works are required these will be done there and then if possible, ahead of the installation and with the utmost care. And we will leave a coil of fibre ready for the installation, at the entry point. All of this applies to the outside of your property, so you don’t even need to be at home for this visit.

What happens on

Installation day

One of our team will arrive promptly at your property. With your permission, they will drill a small hole into the wall of your property, through which your new full-fibre line will be fed. This can be within ten metres of where we left the cable on our previous visit. On the inside of your home, we’ll then install a small box which the line will run into. This box is then connected to your new router, and you’re all set with your new Wi-Fi.

You can then change your network name, password, controls, and prioritise your devices through an app you can download onto your phone. If you’ve ordered a phone line, we’ll connect that and, provided you’ve not yet cancelled your contract with your existing provider, we’ll transfer your number too.
